Import Specialists: Nissan SR20DET S13 Redtop $ 1850.00
One of the most popular engines from Nissan's SR family, the SR20DET has had a renewed vitality in recent years. Originally available in the Nissan Silvia, 180sx and other Nissan JDM cars, the SR20DET became a popular choice for North American 240sx enthusiasts looking to change their stock KA24Es and KA24DEs for something more powerful. The SR20DET is a 2 litre, turbo charged intercooled engine, originally designed to be a cheaper replacement for the CA family of engines (which no longer met Japan's emission standards).
The SR20DET typically produced 155 hp and came in a variety of valve cover colors. The valve cover colors generally relate to the year the engine was released. The engines were also fitted with different turbos and set to different specifications depending on which car the engine was put into.
