Nissan's line of RB engines is rumored to stand for "Race Bred". If true, the engines live up to their name. The engines are available from 2 litre to 3 litre displacement. All are inline six cylinder four stroke gasoline engines.

The RB26DETT is perhaps one of the most sought after engines in the JDM world. Part of the reason is because of its use in Nissan's Skyline GT-R series of cars. The other reason for its popularity is the sheer potential power output this engine is capable of. Completely stock, the engine is able to produce over 300 horse power. By simply changing the stock turbos, without modifying the engine's internal components, the case iron block can easily be pushed to 600 horse power. With exteme modification, the engine is said to be capable of producing power in excess of a megawatt (over 1340 horse power).

The RB26DETT is a reliable engine with near endless possibilities. The only drawback to the motor is its price and weight as compared to other options.
